November 2026 Meetup - Kanangra, NSW

  • Canyoning Australia Sydney NSW 2000 Australia (map)

Bring your friends, make some new ones, go canyoning at the November 2026 Canyoning Australia meetup, 2026 at Kanangra from 28 - 29 November.

A Canyoning Australia meetup is a weekend for canyoners to turn up in one spot, meet old friends, make new ones and organise your own canyoning trips.

A meetup is for independent canyoners, who can look after themselves in a group canyoning trip.  You organise your own food, gear, transport, mates, trips, ropes and so on.

The November 2026 meetup will be held at the Boyd River Campground. Please note 7 campsites have been booked for Saturday.

The main single day canyons near Kanangra are Kanagra Main, Kalang, Danae Brook, Dione Dell and Box Creek.

There are also several 2 day canyons in the area including Davis, Thurat Rift, Carrabeanga - though we don’t really encourage these for the meetup as it will mean missing out on nighttime festivities.

Please note that Kanangra canyons are different from Blue Mountains canyons. Overall, they are bigger and harder.

  • Much more vertical. Abseils are long, with most canyons containing some 60m drops

  • Many abseils, typically 10-15

  • Steep trackless walkouts, of 600m or more altitude gain

  • Some have challenging navigation for the walk in and exit

  • Loose rock, loose slopes underfoot, and scratchy prickly bush

  • Remote

  • Long days, commonly 8-12 hours

In approximate order of difficulty of the east-flowing canyons:

  • Box Creek

  • Dione Dell

  • Kalang Falls

  • Kanangra Main

  • Danae Brook

  • Davies (usually overnight)

  • Thurat Rift (usually overnight)

  • Carrabeanga (overnight)

This event is for paid members (join now for only $40). Register your interest via the November 2026 meetup registration form.
