Notice of AGM 25/26
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Australian Canyoning Association Incorporated (INC1800931), operating as Canyoning Australia, will be held online on Tuesday, 8 July 2025 at 7:00 pm AEST.
At this meeting, which will be held via Google Meet (Meeting link: meet.google.com/rux-uzuz-onx), we will elect the committee for the 2025/2026 membership year.
To nominate for a committee role or vote in the AGM, you must be a current financial member. Annual membership is $40 (sign up at bottom of page). A list of roles can be found on our About us page.
We are an open and inclusive team, and if you’re a passionate canyoner, we’d love to hear from you. There’s always room for people who want to make a difference and help grow canyoning as a sport and community.
Highlights from the Past Year
We officially adopted the operating name “Canyoning Australia”
Bek and Ben coordinated our 2025 Photo Competition, which attracted many stunning entries showcasing the beauty of Australian canyons. Congratulations to the winners who shared in over $800 worth of prizes.
Our iconic platypus and kangaroo canyoning stickers were designed, printed, and are now available for just $2 each.
Our February canyoning meetup was a great success and has become the template for future events. Special thanks to Matt for the amazing catering!
We worked with Mount Wilson locals to reroute the Wollangambe 2 exit track off private land.
Working behind the scenes with an insurer to obtain club insurance so we can run events, workshops and trips
A huge amount of work has gone into developing policy and procedures documentation behind the scenes, helping pave the way to obtaining insurance.
The Terms of Reference for the new Canyoning Care Consultation Committee have been drafted and endorsed.
We established The Canyon Fund, a community-driven mechanism to support canyon route maintenance.
With the release of our canyoning boots article, we’ve launched the first in a series of gear-focused write-ups.
We’ve now registered for an ABN, enabling us to introduce automatic membership renewals in the future.
More behind scenes work on obtaining national registration (currently we’re only registered in NSW)
