All Blue Mountains National Parks closed due to extreme fire danger

Post by T2 » 10 Nov 2019, 22:19

Due to the current bushfire situation and a forecast of potentially catastrophic fire conditions in the coming days, national parks across the greater Blue Mountains are being entirely closed until Thursday 14 November.

Penalties will apply to anyone entering Blue Mountains, Wollemi, Gardens of Stone, and Kanangra-Boyd National Parks.

Check the NPWS alerts page before entering any national park, and be aware that this closure could be extended beyond Thursday (https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/alerts/alerts-list).

A total fire ban is also in place for Monday and Tuesday.

The Rural Fire Service has released an unprecedented warning of catastrophic fire danger for the greater Sydney and Hunter areas on Tuesday due to forecast high temperatures and strong winds.

Many State Forests are also closed until further notice due to ongoing bushfire risks. These include those in the greater Sydney region, Southern Highlands, Central West, and everything north to the Queensland border.
