Assistance with canyoning content for recreational bushwalkers' manual

Post by T2 » 21 Jan 2019, 08:41

Bushwalking NSW, the peak body for outdoor clubs in the state, is currently in the process of producing a detailed Recreational Bushwalkers' Manual. This manual will provide guidelines and information for safe, enjoyable community-based volunteer bushwalking in Australia. It will be an invaluable resource, particularly for people looking to increase their skills so that they can better lead trips.

As part of the new manual (which is an updated version of this Bushwalking and Ski Touring Leadership Handbook), there will be a detailed section on canyoning.

Bushwalking NSW is currently organising a group of experienced canyoners who are members of bushwalking clubs to write canyoning content for the manual.

If you'd like to assist with the project, send an email with your details to: admin@bushwalkingnsw.org.au.

Bushwalking NSW is holding an initial meeting to kick off the project, discuss what should be contained in the canyoning section, and break up the work into small, manageable parts that people can assist with. It is taking place next Friday (29 March 2019) from 6.30pm in the lower Blue Mountains.

If you wish to take part, RSVP to Kirsten Mayer (admin@bushwalkingnsw.org.au) and you'll be sent more information.
