My canyoning backpack is beyond stuffed and I am hunting for a new one.

Merridy, I haven't seen one of these in Australia, but would be keen to hear how they go.
US Canyoneering packs usually work pretty well in our conditions. The canyons over there are really rough on gear, so they have to make them tough. The one downside is they often have more straps and outside pockets. They never really bushbash, so it's not an issue. I like the curved bottom on this one. I'd also be curious how the drainage wears on the bottom. Having tape sewn across mesh makes sense, but I'd be nervous about things poking through the bottom and stabbing holes in drybags.

thanks for the pics - the only pics I had found did not show at all the bottom - I reckon I could destroy that in a day! the tripod would soon poke through I think. Bummer. You'd want to glue something else inside at the bottom there I think.

The problem with adding something to the inside is that mesh bottom is the drainage system, so you may reinforce it, but then your pack won't empty as quickly as you come out of pools.
What pack have you used previously? I've found the Summit packs work very well. My canyoning pack has easily done 200+ days in the bush. And the smaller canyonita pack is really cool. It's probably my favourite pack for day trips. If you go into Katoomba you can try out the summit packs, but also walk down the road to Adventure Base which stocks some Imlay packs. They are pretty bomber too.
