Grand Canyon -- Temporary closure

Post by T2 » 19 Feb 2019, 11:51

National Parks have just advised that Grand Canyon (both the walking tracks, and the canyon itself) will be closed this Thursday (21 Feb 2019).

The closure is due to a helicopter operation which will be bringing building materials in for repairs to the walking track.

Like all helicopter operations, it is weather dependent, so it may be postponed if there is wind, rain, fog, etc.

I will post any further closures to this threat as they are announced.

The Grand Canyon closure is now scheduled for tomorrow (1 March 2019). As per the original post, the canyon and surrounding walking tracks will all be off limits. The helicopter operation is weather dependent, so may need to be postponed again if conditions aren't suitable.
