Nice video Dave, :D one of my favourite canyons and the first trip down is always the best. The dodgy bollard anchor was interesting the first time (and I've seen much worse since). When we first did it we went left instead of right trying to find a more direct route out, and there is one, up a pagoda slot, although it was a dodgy climb (for me). We went back to put a fixed rope in place, it's probably still there and will still be useable.

I love this little canyon. And it's so easy to tack on to a trip through Tigersnake!
I will point out though, the name is wrong. Dave Noble corrected me on this one. This canyon was called Crooked Crevice when first descended. There's another slot nearby that's the real Penrose Gully. I haven't explored it, but apparently it's not as good as this one.

It's confusing as Penrose creek is the orginal name of Tunnel creek. Penrose Gorge is Bells Grotto which is also reffered to as Penrose Gully in some railway related literature.... The Penrose gully/slot T2 reffers to is an interesting walk down slot. Interesting but not something you'd rush back to too often. There are also some interesting slots/ mirco canyons and passes to the north of Crooked Crevice.

Wow, so the situation is even more complicated than I realised.

Flynny, u r the most knowledgeable in this are among us. You've been walking with Yuri Bolotin in the area.
To me, the "exit slot" shown in the last 5 sec of this video is the "Penrose Slot Mark 2" that Yuri has documented from his walk in the area in 2016. I compared Yuri's picture with trhis video and there is no doubt about it. And said "Penrose Slot Mark 2" is indeed to the true right while walking out from Crooked Crevice, i.e. to the north. Are you saying there is more than one exit to Tiger Snake Track from said area N of Crooked Crevice? I thought the slot T2 reffers to, was indeed "Penrose Slot Mark 2"...
I'm asking this question because I want to visit Tiger Snake/Crooked Crevice soon & I'm gathering known info before I go and explore.

Yep that is the one Yuri calls Penrose slot mark 2. It's the easiest way back up to the Tiger Snake Track from the end of Crooked Crevice (AKA the Penrose gully listed in the Jamieson Guide)

The joint that slot has formed in continues down the other side and it's also possible to walk around the corner and come up from the other side though it involves a bit of chimneying at the top

There are quite as few slots further along, atleast one of which goes and others I think would go and I hope to get out soon with the goal of checking them out more, but you are getting further away from the goal of getting back up to collect your bags before heading to Tiger Snake

We did the Crooked Crevice trip just last weekend

My trip report from the walk I did with Yuri is here
