Glow worm tunnel canyon

This is actually a pretty good trip - a nice easy one with a few natural highlights - nice rocks, patterns, ferns and the tourists loved seeing us abseil on top of their heads

Ethereal Canyon pics

this is a creek walk, but it has all the things you like in a real canyon trip just not the abseiling..... scrub bashing, sticks poking you in the eye, rather wet and muddy, lots of water really..... it's long, winding, and really unbelievably pretty and LUSH. It is the only place I have ever seen f...

Re: Anybody own an On-Rope Explore Canyoneering Pack?

thanks for the pics - the only pics I had found did not show at all the bottom - I reckon I could destroy that in a day! the tripod would soon poke through I think. Bummer. You'd want to glue something else inside at the bottom there I think.

Re: FreezeFest 2018 (Mt Wilson)

can we get an idea at this stage of what canyons might be visited? got my own freezefest happening here in my bedroom at Lithgow (-3 tonight yikes!), not sure I want to camp out but I live so close I may well venture down for a canyon trip and to top up your camp-firewood supplies :) and have camp f...

Re: Thoughts on single rope techniques and releasable anchors

I know so little about knots and rescue techniques etc etc. We had a paramedic join he upper blue mountains bush club last year and every time we did an abseil, she's want to isolate the rope. I asked why and though I really like the idea of having a second rope for somebody to descend on if somethi...
